In Indore, the district administration is processing the allocation of land ownership rights to the residents of 29 villages that were brought under the municipal corporation's jurisdiction. Following the expansion of the municipal limits in 2014 to include these villages, individuals living on residential land in these areas or their successors can apply for a lease to secure land ownership rights. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav recently issued directives regarding this matter during a meeting in Indore.
Residents of the 29 villages currently face challenges in selling their homes or securing loans for construction due to the absence of proper registration, lease, or documentation. To address this issue, they can apply for land holding rights based on a circular issued by the Revenue Department on September 24, 2020. Successful applicants will be granted a 30-year lease, facilitating easier access to loans and allowing them to sell or transfer their property as needed.
Beginning on September 29, 2024, camps will be set up at tehsil offices in Juni Indore, Malharganj, Rau, Bicholi Hapsi, and Kanadia to receive applications. Those who meet the eligibility criteria will be granted leases under the land holding rights scheme after verification.
SDM Rau Vinod Rathore mentioned that online lease applications will be accepted at the camps. Applicants should bring essential documents such as utility bills, government correspondence related to the property, property tax receipts, and documents confirming residency and ownership.
